Austin audiences will have the unique opportunity to see a living legend of Czech classical and European jazz music ! Felix Slovacek,Sr. and two young stars of the current Czech musical scene clarinetist and soprano saxophonist Felix Slovacek, Jr. and pianist Viacheslav Grokhovski, Jr., from a famous Czech musical family. Arists: Felix Slovacek, Sr., clarnet, soprano-saxophone, renowned across Europe Felix Slovacek, Jr., clarinet & soprano-saxophone,, will perform with Vyacheslav Grokhovsky, Jr., on piano. they will perform a wide range of international works from Tchaikovsy to Schubert to Massenet and from Smetana to Stravinsky to Carl Stamitz. About the Artists: Felix Slovacek Sr. clarinetist, saxophonist conductor, and pedagogist studied piano and violin much of his youth; but his real interest in clarinet, and later, saxophone began after finishing high school. He has worked in all genres of music, including classical, children's music, jazz. He is the leader of the "Felix Slovacek Big Band." Throughout his career, he has sold over two million albums.

He is most famous as a soloist of pop-music and jazz. As a soloist in classical music, he has performed with most of the major orchestras of Eastern Europe and Italy. Pianist Vyacheslav Grokhovsky, Jr is a prizewinner of international competitions. Vyacheslav performs extensively as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He is a member of the E. Napravnik Piano Trio and chief director of the International Eduard Napravnik Music Festival in the Czech Republic. His international appearances include festivals in Italy, France, the United States, the Czech Republic, Germany and Russia. Czech Clarinetist Felix Slovacek, Jr. is a versatile and charismatic artist who comfortably navigates the worlds of classical music and jazz as well as the musical theater, where he performs as a singer and actor. He has been selected as the state soloist of the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra.

With great joy, we invite you all to the long awaited CD release and concert by the famous Russian musician and singer, the author of wonderful, memorable songs, Igor Bulanov with special guest Zhenya Rock ( the leader of Flying Balalaika Brothers).     

Artists: Igor Bulanov        - acoustic guitar, vocal,
             Zhenya Rock    - acoustic guitar, vocal,
             Chris Haussler    - Percussion, cajon,
             Jeff Grauzer      - Bass guitar.
Release:
Igor Bulanov is a man whose fate has long been closely intertwined with music. Prior to his solo career, he was the author and founder of the groups "Zeitnot" and "Eurasia", later he worked for a long time with various musical groups and famous artists, such as Alexander Barykin, Alexander Serov as a guitarist and back-vocalist.
After a long career break in 2005, Igor met old friend from "Megapolis" band,  Oleg Nesterov, who invited him to record an album on the basis of the accumulated items. So there was the first solo album "My quiet light"-  elegant and almost acoustic pop, born at the junction of different genres such as reggae, bluegrass, folk tunes and even chanson.
To date, Igor has released three music albums and give a concerts throughout Russia and Kazakhstan.

The concert will be held on May 11th. at the Austin Hideaway club in a Conference hall.
It is timed to the release of artists new album Stories at the Edge of Sky.
All songs tell different stories, but one thing unites them- these stories are for the soul, stories which help ease the deafening rhythm of our daily life, feel beauty in blue calmness, think and smile.
It is challenging to categorize the genre of Igors songs as very special blend of reggae, indie and acoustic rock. The audience will find them unique and creating a very special mood, great vibes.

Piano & Harp Rendez-vous musical event presents a world class harpist Alena Bystritskiy and a Piano Duo AleAnya (Anya Grokhovsky and Alena Gorina). We invite you to enjoy classical selections of Schubert, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and others. The event will take place on May 25th at 7 PM at the Hope Lutheran Church in Austin.

About the artists

Russian born, Alena Bystritsky, studied harp with Professor Marion Hofmann at the University of Music and Theater Rostock in Germany.

Alena Bystritsky is a winner of major international harp competitions: 2007 Verband der Harfenisten in Deuscthland e.V., 2007 the Franz Josef Reinl competition, and 2005 the Deutsche Bahn competition.

Mrs. Bystritsky made her appearance with Berliner Symphoniker Orchestra, RBB Symphony Orchestra, The North German Philhamonic Orchestra, Neubrandenburg Philharmonia Orchestra, and Goettingen Symphonia Orchestra.

Piano Duo AleAnya

Alena Gorina & Anya Grokhovski are pianists with extensive concert experience as both soloists and chamber musicians who came together to share their love of piano ensemble repertory. Their programing is greatly influenced by their cultural and educational roots. Alena was born, raised, and educated in Belorussia (formerly, the Soviet Union) and Anya in Moscow, Russia. Needless to say, Russian music holds a special place in the hearts of Duo AleAnya. Both Alena and Anya hold doctoral degrees in piano performance; Alena from University of Texas at Austin and Anya from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow. Currently Alena is a lecturer at Texas State University, San Marcos and Anya is the Artistic Director of Musical Bridges Around the World, a non-profit cultural and educational organization based in San Antonio, Texas.
